In order to keep the app evolving at such a fast rate, we introduced a small subscription for users who wished to received regular legislative updates.

A valid subscription is required to receive legislative database updates - The subscription can be purchased within the app on a monthly automatically renewing basis. The subscription required is called "1 month auto renewing - LAW Database Update Subscription" - The subscription cost is £0.99 per month and a 1 month FREE trial is available for any new subscriber and will be credited on first subscription.

The subscription will automatically renew every 1 month unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24-hours before the end of the current period and will charge your iTunes account within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. You may cancel or manage the subscription by going to the Account Settings on your device

Any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, will be forfeited when the user purchases a subscription to that publication, where applicable

Fantastic App - Police Officer Review

This app is fantastic, and for 99p a month you can’t go far wrong. I use this every shift, if not more than a few times a day. I currently work within investigation and this is the perfect tool to stick on my desk whilst doing interview plans, looking for guidance, completing MG forms and even looking for CJS codes for building charges - this is just to name a few bits I use, but this app saves time looking through PNLD or flicking through Blackstones. What I like even more is that the creators have now got a Facebook page and they actively ask users to make suggestions for updates they’d like to see, and are always on hand to rectify any problems. I thoroughly promote use of this app to any Officers, Detectives, PCSO’s and Specials.

Shame...

A real shame. A very useful and user friendly app has been spoiled.
Constant requests for subscription, which I will not do having bought a 'paid for' app. Since these requests started, the app crashed whenever you type a single letter into the search bar. Extremely frustrating and renders the app all but useless.

**update** As per above review really...
Still had no updates due to not paying and the bugs are of course are still there.. I have looked at the developers responses to other criticisms of the subscription costs, but sadly, although I sympathise, I don’t believe it makes it right. When you choose to create an app with what clearly has a relatively limited target market, you have to consider that at some point ‘new’ users paying enough to fund development will dry up. Having paid for the app when there was no mention of a monthly fee, it really is a case of moving the goal posts. If new terms were created including monthly fees and new folk bought it, then use that as the source of income, but changing the cost after taking the initial payment under a different set of terms is unfair.

If the developer joined the job under the old pension scheme, I do hope that he/she is happily accepting that he/she is now on the new pension scheme and will NOT be claiming for what they previously paid in to and will accept what they are given because ‘needs must’...

Top app

For those within the police this app is truly fantastic. It contains all the legislation and powers you could possibly need in a handy, easily accessible database. Yes, it does have a 99p per month subscription but that is truly worth it. The app is continually updated in line with changes within the law. This is unlike other law apps I have seen that are out of date. The reference library is especially useful with documents such as gravity matrix, PACE codes, charging guidance, and crime recording standards to name but a few. If you're on the front line this is the most useful app you can have. Don't be put of with 99p a month that you won't notice!
