Description

Paint hack is for painting and illustration. It is an App for digital artists to create professional grade and experimental artworks. Fast, versatile and minimal.

Brought to you by the award winning indie-development team ‘notforants.com’

Powered by a fast, smooth and versatile painting engine, which has a few original techniques up it's sleeve, #PAINT HACK# has a huge range of brushes and off-the-wall experimental brushes. Not forgetting the fully customisable effect touch-up brushes. And if you are really curious of what paint hack can do why not open up the hood and start making your own.

All brushes can be used as brush, eraser, smudge or wet brush - so you can have smudge brushes which push paint around, to ones which texturise or scratch into the paint.

By mashing and mixing up its different brushes you can create original and imaginative works.

Paint hack also comes with a gestural recognition mode which assists in drawing lines, circles and squares. It can recognise corners and points so that lines can simply be joined together for drawing shapes and 3D looking shapes which you can then fill in with colours or brush strokes.
No more struggling with getting you finger or pen device to the exact point for a seamless join.

Sketching, Inking, Painting, Sprays, Patterns, Shapes, Experimental, Neon, Splats, Effects.

Glitch

Love using the app, but when I go back in to the app after having not been in it distorts the colors and remove some of the color. Also if I try to undo it makes everything a gray instead of keeping the colors as they were. I want to continue using the app but I’m about like what is happening when I go back in or when I hit undo. Please fix!!!

Paint Hack v Procreate

When I first got an iPad Pro, I had gotten Procreate ($4.99) and gotten used to. I could edit the brushes so simply and the layout is user friendly. I particularly enjoy the stream line edit for their pens. They also have more pen categories and various easy to find lay outs. The brushes are very smooth..When this was given to me via Apps Daily I tried it out. I don’t know how much this app costs, but unless it’s free it’s worth the download. The brushes lag immensely and if you want to fill in the closed area it’s hard to drag the color. Though I must say there’s a lot of better things in it, but not enough to balance it out. This app has a lot more brushes, but the size can’t really be changed. For example, if I want a pen to color in a large area, I would like it to size up with the texture; but it doesn’t. How ever, once you go into the screen for more canvases, there’s A LOT more choices. More brushes per category, more choices, and the water effects actually look like it’s water as opposed to just awkward effects.
This app takes some getting used to, but overall there’s pros and cons to the two apps I use. Also, I included the price of the other app because maybe the price difference effects the quality of the app.

Tons of brushes

You can definitely create some nice artwork with this. Huge choice of brushes! In fact, the quantity can actually be a bit overwhelming. Biggest drawback: only supports a couple of styluses, Apple Pencil not included (Apple pencil will work, but special features such as tilt and pressure sensitivity are not supported). I had fun playing around with this. I didn't create any great art, but I did have fun.
