As the sheriff of a small town, it is your duty to serve and protect, but this one man town hasn't seen any action in all the dozen years you've been its law enforcement. That all changes the instant a stranger bearing horrifying marks storms into town. His very presence is startling as it appears he is deteriorating right before your eyes. His cries are even more alarming, but before you can make any sense out of the strange warning, you sustain a devastating injury...

When you wake up, you are alone in a town that is eerily devoid of human life. Stepping out in the streets, you receive the shock of a lifetime as a bullet whizzes right past you and then a horrific creature comes stalking towards you with weapons raised in attack. Grabbing for your own weapon, you find yourself stripped of the gun that served as an extension of you for twelve long years. Using bare fists, you go head-to-head with this fierce enemy intent on dealing maximum damage as it aims to force you to the ground. Sheer strength of will prevails and your enemy falls before you just as you spy a discarded weapon. Quick to claim it, you try to make sense of all that has happened.

Prowling the streets of this lonely landscape, only more questions are formed as you are besieged with enemy mobs, each with the same violent intent as the previous. While these monsters have invaded the lands, hiding among the towering city buildings, planning an ambush in the gardens, and creeping through the winding streets in broad daylight. These mighty fighters make up an army like you've never seen. Walking the edge of survival, you are forced to blast through this strange new frontier, taking out one enemy after another in this brutal test of survival. Where everyone go? Your friends, colleagues, family members?

Finally, in the 4 Block Street of Blockville, you discover a group of humans. In excitement you rush toward them... only to be shot at and mercilessly attacked. With nothing left to do, you fight back, desperate to live. As you battle it out, you happen to catch a glimpse of your reflection and what you see frightens you to the core. Your mind flashes back to the man who hobbled into town, taking it by storm. His lesions, blackened limbs, the open sores and red eyes.... all of it you see it looking back at you in the broken shard of a mirror.

Fend off mob attacks, watch out for snipers as you traverse dangerous landscapes in a desperate act of survival. Make use of your pickups, reserve your shots and prepare for the worst. The enemies are bound and determined to see your end.
